Namal appears before the CCD to make statement

United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa appeared before the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) today to make statement.

The son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa was asked to appear before the CCD today in connection with an investigation over a threat made to the former Air Force Commander by an individual on the telephone who claimed he was Namal Rajapaksa.

Investigations had revealed that the person who made the telephone call was an impostor. (Colombo Gazette)

Covering face banned by President Sirisena

Covering of the face in a manner which prevents anyone from being identified, has been banned by President Maithripala Sirisena under the emergency regulations. Knives and axes found in Maskeliya

The Police have found 49 knives and three axes at a place of worship in Maskeliya today. The knives were recovered during a search operation conducted in the area. One person was arrested over the discovery.
