PM appoints committee on constitutional reforms

RANIL_WICKRAMASING_2521384fPrime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has appointed a committee to obtain public views on constitutional reforms.

The Prime Minister had received the approval of the cabinet to appoint the committee, the Prime Minister’s office said.

The committee headed by Attorney-at-law Lal Wijeynayake includes 24 members.

The Prime Minister’s office said that the committee appointed by Wickremesinghe comprises politicians and civil society members.

The committee will obtain written and oral proposals from the public around the country and submit the proposals to the cabinet sub-committee on electoral reforms. (Colombo Gazette)
