Tamil People’s Council discusses several issues

nddsssThe Tamil People’s Council led by Northern Province Chief Minister C V Wigneswaran met today and discussed several issues.

The meeting took place following a meeting held between Wigneswaran and Tamil National Alliance (TNA) leader R. Sampanthan on Christmas day.

There have been concerns among members of the TNA that the Tamil People’s Council is looking at being an alternative Tamil political party.

At the meeting held in Jaffna today the Tamil People’s Council discussed the proposed electoral reforms, the political solution for the Tamils and other issues concerning the Tamils in the North.

Northern Province Chief Minister C V Wigneswaran was recently appointed as the head of the new organisation comprising Tamil politicians and civil society members.

The main committee in the ‘Tamil People’s Council’ includes Tamil National Alliance members Dharmalingham Sidharthan and Suresh Premachandran and Tamil National People’s Front leader Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam. (Colombo Gazette)

  1. Mr. CM…. Sir,
We the Tamil speaking people in the world congratulate you on your move to save our rich culture that demanded quality along with respectability. The TNA comprises of CERTAIN members who are a bunch of uneducated peasants who live in homes grabbed from innocent Tamil people who unfortunately moved on due to the War situation in the North of Srilanka. They even are robbing from places of worship that does not belong to them at all.
We applaud you Sir to bring back an administration that will uphold the real unequaled for so many years culture that we Tamils are so proud of. Good luck.

  2. A very good move by Mr.Wigneswaran in forming the TNP. There should be a body to watch the activities of the TNA because they are not trustworthy and have acted in a way which is detrimental to the Tamils. Mr.Sambanthan has only a couple of years to go and who will be the leader of the TNA. The TNP will decide. Ranil was clever in bringing a split in the TNA.

  3. TNA thought it was the wise crack at the national polls because the `very smart lawyers` do not feel the truth and eat it but think the truth and cry over the result.
    Well done Wiggie!
Keep it up let them understand the meaning of liberty and freedom and when to vote `no confidence` which is always counted. then one does not cry or eat bones meant for dogs but negotiation follows by itself.
free education taught both the south and north to lift the gun when they were not able to get a 8-5 job- what a shame. live life by negotiation its easy as the west.
Trumps wins by November then its all trumps. than being ruled by billionaire lobbyist in oil wells and mud.

  4. Solution to Tamil problem is by Unity. Tamils have rejected extremism. Does people know Vignes is a in law of vasu who shamelessly betrayed his principles. Vasu made a hue and cry over the privatisation of airline fuel. What was the end result not only did we loose the profit but the foreign exchange. The beneficiary is a indian based Company.Tamils in Sri Lanka want a peaceful resolution and have shown it in the last general election. Dont be mislead by dishonest politicians who have ulterior motives.
