Foreign Minister Ravi Karunanayake failed to appear before the Presidential Commission investigating the alleged bond scam today. The Minister informed the commission he was unable to appear owing to official duties. The Minister is now expected to appear before the commission on August 2.

Kollonawa tense, Parliament erupts over fuel issue

A tense situation arose in Kollonawa today as trade unions attempted to prevent the military and police from carrying out the distribution of fuel with the assistance of some petroleum employees.
