Customs protest delays outbound flights at BIA

BIA KatunayakeA protest staged by customs officers at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) today resulted in delays in outbound flights.

At least four Srilankan airlines flights bound to Beijing, London, Lahore and Singapore were delayed as a result of the strike.

However the strike was later called off and operations resumed. (Colombo Gazette)

  1. When the thugs ruled the country, none dared to demand even fresh water after one was shot dead. Now all seem to abuse freedom causing massive losses to the government. Custom workers must be held responsible for the losses and inconvenience caused to travelers.
