TNA reiterates demand to free political prisoners

Sampanthan-60000-1The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) today demanded the release of all Tamil political prisoners.

TNA leader R. Sampanthan, speaking in Parliament today, said he cannot understand why the Government is refusing to release the Tamil political prisoners.

Sampanthan noted that the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) and former army commander Sarath Fonseka have also backed calls to free the detainees. (Colombo Gazette)

  1. There are thousands of young Tamils without jobs. What the TNA has been doing about it. Tamils have been supporting the Asia’s longest and bloodiest war in Sri Lanka for three decades. Why building a factory or Technical School is impossible for the Diaspora leaders and the TNA? It seems to me the TNA is doing what the foreign power wants. First and foremost Tamil leaders must do something to the unemployed young Tamils who have completed university degrees and Advanced Levels; before worrying about the prisoners. There are other important things to do before worrying about the prisoners. Tamil leaders can’t think, but the foreign powers have been thinking for those Tamils leaders. That is why Tamils have nothing after three decades of bloody war.
