JVP slams Government on raising vehicle tax

The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) today slammed the Government over the decision to raise the tax on vehicles, including?electric vehicles.
JVP Propaganda Secretary Vijitha Herath said that the public collect money with the greatest difficulty to purchase a vehicle.
However, now he says the Government has made purchasing a vehicle only a dream for some by raising the tax on vehicle imports.
Herath said that in most countries?a Government would give tax concessions for environmentally friendly vehicles but the new Government has done the opposite by increasing the tax on electric cars as well. (Colombo Gazette)
