President Maithripala Sirisena left for Thailand today on a four day state visit.
Prime Minister of Thailand General Prayut Chan-o-cha invited President Sirisena to participate in the ceremony to mark the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and Thailand.
During this visit, the President will hold discussions with the Princess of Thailand and the Prime Minister of Thailand. The discussions will focus on strengthening the Buddhist relationship between the two countries.
President Sirisena will also declare open the exposition of the Sarvagna dhathu from the Mahiyangana Rajamaha Viharaya, at the Buddhamanthan Temple in Thailand on November 03.
A ceremony to place a special Samadhi Buddha Statue offered from Sri Lanka to Thailand, at the Dharmarama Temple in Thailand will also be held under the patronage of President Sirisena. (Colombo Gazette)
