Ban told Paranagama Report falls short

BanThe Maxwell Paranagama Commission Report on the Sri Lankan conflict had fallen short of truthfulness and justice, said S P Udayakumar, Convenor of the People’s Movement Against Nuclear Energy (PMANE) and member of the Steering Committee of Pachai Thamizhagam in India.

In a letter addressed to the Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon, Udayakumar said that the report appears to be a ploy to circumvent the charges of genocide of the Tamil minority in that country and to avert a possible international inquiry into the “war crimes” by the Sri Lankan government and its armed forces.
