Sampanthan says will not allow destroy country

Opposition leader R. Sampanthan says no one is ready to allow the country to be destroyed.

He was speaking at the 60^th anniversary of the Sri Lanka Elections Department held today.

Sampanthan said that if democracy does not survive in Sri Lanka, the country will be destroyed.

?Non of us are prepared to allow this country to be destroyed. Therefore we should preserve democracy,? he said.

He said the Department of Elections should be aware of its responsibility to preserve democracy at all times. (Colombo Gazette)
