The Chinese Government says it will always stand together with Sri Lanka to strive for a more brilliant future for the bilateral relations.
Speaking at a reception hosted in Colombo to mark the 66th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China, the Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Yi Xianliang said that China and Sri Lanka are neighbors who enjoy centuries of friendship based on mutual benefits and win win results without political preconditions.
He said that the cooperation in various fields between China and Sri Lanka has flourished in the past decades contributing to the sustainable development of Sri Lanka and bringing tangible benefits to the people from both countries
“China is Sri Lanka’s friend in need and up to now, China has provide preferential loans amounting to more than 800 billion Sri Lanka Rupees and donations worth over 200 billion Rupees to Sri Lanka . The two countries enterprises have worked together and constructed a number of mega projects , which have created more than one hundred thousand job opportunities for the local people and trained tens of thousands of technicians and managers. BMICH, the Supreme Court complex and the Nelum Pokuna Theater have become well known symbols of friendship between our two peoples. China takes all possible efforts to support Sri Lanka in dealing with chronic kidney diseases. This year the Chinese Government decided to donate a kidney hospital complex with modern facilities to Sri Lanka,” he said.
He said that China looks forward to continuously enhancing the traditional friendship between the two countries. (Colombo Gazette)
