Lanka notes importance of ties with Bangladesh

Sri Lanka says it attached high importance to its relations with Bangladesh,?the Bangladesh media reported.

Newly appointed Sri Lankan High Commissioner in Bangladesh Yasoja Gunasekera had paid a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali.

They discussed issues of mutual interest, the foreign ministry said on Sunday according to bdnews24.com.

Ali highlighted the prospects of exporting pharmaceuticals to Sri Lanka, and sought cooperation in ship-building.

Gunasekera thanked the minister for receiving her, and said Sri Lanka attached ?high importance? to its relations with Bangladesh. (Colombo Gazette)

Two sections of information department temporarily closed

Two sections of the Department of Government Information have been temporarily closed. The Media Accreditation Division of the Department of Government Information and the sales outlet maintained by Government Publications Bureau at the Departmental premises have been temporarily closed.
