Woman arrested with heroin inside chocolate

A woman was arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport with heroin in her possession, the Customs Department said.

The 58 year old woman is a resident of Mattakkuliya and was arrested by the staff of the Customs Narcotic Control unit.

The authorities recovered 200g of heroin concealed in two chocolate slabs (100g x 2) valued at Rs. 2,500,000.00.

The Customs Department said that the woman had arrived from Chennai on SriLankan airlines flight UL 122 this?morning.

Investigations are being carried out by Deputy Director of Customs A. T. Walawage, Assistant Superintendent of Customs Gayan Senaratna and Thilanga Amunugama. (Colombo Gazette)
