Final report by PSC on Easter Sunday attacks tabled

The final report by the Parliament Select Committee (PSC) on the Easter Sunday attacks was tabled in Parliament today. The report was tabled by PSC member Jayampathy Wickramaratne. Opposition Parliamentarian Dinesh Gunawardena raised concerns over the PSC and its report as one of the members had been accused of having had links with one of the bombers. Royal Park victim’s sister speaks out against President’s move

The sister of Swedish national Yvonne Johnson, who was killed at the Royal Park Condominium in 2005, has spoken out against President Maithripala Sirisena’s statement that he is considering a Presidential pardon to the convict who carried out the crime. PM appears before Presidential Commission

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe appeared before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry today to record a statement over paddy storage at the Mattala International Airport. The Prime Minister arrived at the BMICH in Colombo where the commission is holding inquiries. Wickremesinghe was set to appear before the commission on October 18 but he was not available on that date. As a result the Prime Minister appeared before the commission today.
