More Ministers appointed to the cabinet

More Ministers were appointed to the new cabinet today increasing the number of cabinet Ministers from 43 to 46.

Parliamentarians Malik Samarawickreme, Faiszer Musthapha and Vijith Wijayamuni Soysa took oaths as cabinet Ministers today.

Samarawickreme was appointed Minister of International Trade and Development Strategies,?Faizer Mustapha the Minister of Local Government and Provincial Councils and?Vijith Wijayamuni Soysa the Minister of Irrigation.

Curfew re-imposed, all Kandy school matches postponed

One person was killed and two others sustained injuries following a shooting incident in?Kotahena today. The Police said that the shooting incident was believed to have been related to the underworld. Three people were admitted to hospital following the shooting incident and one person succumbed to his injuries in hospital. (Colombo Gazette)
