Four people deported to Sri Lanka arrested at BIA

Four people who had been deported to Sri Lanka from three countries, were arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA),?the police media unit said today.

A Sri Lankan man who was deported from Qatar was arrested at the?BIA on his arrival to Sri Lanka, the police media unit said.

The police said that the man had been on his way to Germany using forged travel documents when he was arrested at the Qatar airport.

He was subsequently deported to Sri Lanka by the Qatar authorities and was arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at the BIA.?The suspect is said to be a 22 year old resident of Kilinochchi.

Another man who was on his way to France using forged documents was also deported from?Qatar and was arrested at the BIA.?The police said that he is 35 year old resident of Kalawanchikudi.

The police said that another man was also deported to Sri Lanka after he had attempted to travel to Greece via Russia.

The police said that the man was arrested at the BIA by the CID and that he is a 26 year old resident of Batticaloa.

A 45 year old resident of Mannar who had attempted to travel to Italy using forged documents was also deported to Sri Lanka and was arrested at the BIA by the CID.

The CID is conducting further investigations.?(Colombo Gazette)

Maximum interest rate imposed on pawning advances of licensed banks
