Dutch national drowns at Mount Lavinia sea

A Dutch national who had gone for a swim in Mount Lavinia had drowned, the police media unit said today.

The police said that the foreigner had gone for a sea swim and?was pulled away by strong currents.

The man was later rescued and taken to the Kalubowila hospital where he had died. He was identified as a 60 year old resident of the Netherlands. (Colombo Gazette)

SF Lokka killed in Anuradhapura shooting incident

Underworld figure ‘SF Lokka’ alias Eron Ranasinghe has died following a shootout reported in Anuradhapura. The Police said the incident had occurred at the Dahaiyagama Junction in Anuradhapura. ?SF Lokka? is reported to have died after being shot by unknown gunmen. Suspects believed to be Rajitha’s supporters arrested
