TNA demands the opposition leader post

The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) is demanding the opposition leader post in the new Parliament which is set to convene next month.

TNA member Selvam Adaikalanathan said that the TNA has now become the third force in Parliament and so it should be given the opposition leader post.

Accordingly, he says TNA leader R. Sampanthan must be appointed as the opposition leader in the new Parliament.

The TNA will have 16 seats in the new parliament which will meet from September 1.?(Colombo Gazette)

Dates set for 2021 Advanced Level, O/L and Grade 5 exams

The dates have been set for the 2021 Advanced Level (A/L), Ordinary Level (O/L) and Grade 5 Scholarship examinations. Accordingly, the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination will be held on Saturday, 22nd January, 2022. The General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) exam will be held from Monday, 07th February, 2022 to Saturday, 05th March, 2022. Meanwhile, the General Certificate of Education (Ordinary Level) examination will be held from Monday, 23rd May, 2022 to Wednesday, 01st June, 2022.
