Thilanga, S.B, Samarasinghe in UPFA national list

United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) members Thilanga Sumathipala, Mahinda Samarasinghe and S B Dissanayake, have been included in the UPFA national list.

Others included are Dr. Sarath Amunugama, Wijith Wijayamuni Zoysa, Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena, Malith Jayatillake, R. Ramanathan, A.H.M Fowzie, Dilan Perera, Faiszer Musthapha and A.M. Hisbullah.

Meanwhile, Kumar Wellgama, Pavithra Wanniarachi and S.M. Chandrasena have been removed from the UPFA Executive Committee.

They had revived letters today informing that they were no longer?UPFA Executive Committee members. (Colombo Gazette)

Night curfew continues in three towns in the East

The Police have decided to continue with the night curfew in three Eastern towns. Accordingly the police curfew was re-imposed in Kalmunai, Sammanthurai and Chawalakade from 8.00 p.m. tonight until 6.00 a.m. tomorrow. The area has been tensed after the Police and military confronted a group of Islamic State supporters last Friday. The confrontation resulted in 15 people being killed.

President orders extra security for religious sites and schools

President Maithripala Sirisena has ordered extra security for religious sites and schools. The President’s media division said that the President has advised the Commanders of the Tri-Forces and the IGP to deploy additional security personnel to safeguard the all religious sites and schools.
