Mahinda decides to continue to engage in politics

MahindaFormer President Mahinda Rajapaksa has decided to continue to engage in politics despite losing the attempt to become Prime Minister.

“I accept with humility, the result of the parliamentary election that just concluded and I thank the voters who placed their confidence in our party despite the unprecedented obstacles that we had to face. I also wish to extend my heartfelt thanks to all the activists and the people’s representatives of our party who worked indefatigably in the election campaign,” Rajapaksa said in a brief statement.

  1. Congrats to winners! Now that election is over, I hope UNP will get back to development of Sri Lanka (SL)!

I must admit that the country has been going backwards since January 2015, and now UNP will get back to putting SL ahead of West and India!

If India is worried about Colombo Port City, they can build another port city off Mt Lavinia!

  2. Great news! Never let shameless lunatic politicians to ruin Sri Lanka. Our family had been voting UNP for more than 40 years continuously, but this election all of us voted for UFPA as we cannot let West to invade Sri Lanka using power-hungry crooks supporting UNP Government. This government will not last long, as they have to expose their secret deals for divinding Sri Lanka.

  3. He wanted to PM – didn’t make it, now he wants to be in opposition and claim the Leader of the Opposition post!
