  1. China must understand one important thing. Building factories alone is not good enough to become a world player; it has to listen to the intellectuals, or it will go down as Japan gone down in the 1940s.

  2. China has been with us since JR spoke in favour of Bandung Conference in 1955 when the world was isolating it under Mao! Since Sri Lanka and China has had a special relationship that never severed! China was the only nation that helped us openly with the war effort to end the LTTE. China is not at fault for the mistakes MR did in his last five years. MR’s intentions were wrong in getting the loans. He inflated the loans by various illegal practices. These will now be traces and all those found guilty punished. The chinese help still will be required. The problem was the so called development was unplanned and haphazardly put in place with the intention of the politicians and the cronies making money!

  3. China is welcome to do genuine business with us according to the terms that beneficial for the both countries; not just for a family.

  4. Yahapalana Nadagama won the election blaming China, so be careful working with this “pickle Government” which may not last long.

  5. We all must thank you China for its help and assistance in all our development goals without any reservations. No doubt as we heading towards a new Era , the Sri Lankan way of thinking and political culture must change according to our goals and global agenda. I hope our new Foreign Minister , most probably the same Mr. Mangala Samaraweera may address the issues related to present development projects soon. present.
