UPFA gets most number of votes in Ratnapura

The United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA)?got the most number of votes in the Ratnapura?District and secured 6 seats during the 2015 Parliamentary election.

The UPFA got?323,636 votes (51.19%) while the?United National Party (UNP) got?284,117 votes (44.94%) and secured 5 seats.

Three fishermen killed, two rescued off Tangalle (AUDIO)

Three fishermen were killed and two were rescued after their boat was attacked and hijacked off Tangalle,?Southern Province Minister of Fisheries D.V. Upul said today. Sri Lanka fights US resolution

The government has launched a campaign through the Sri Lankan Embassy in the United States to lobby against a resolution presented by a US Congressman on Sri Lanka, the Sunday Leader newspaper reported today.
