Election continues peacefully, minor incidents reported

The Parliamentary election was so far peaceful this morning with just a few minor incidents of election law violations reported, according to local election monitors.

As of 10 this morning, the District Returning Officers?said that a fair turnout had been recorded in the various districts.

The?Returning Officers had recorded a 40% voter turnout in Anuradhapura, 23% in Kalutara, 25% in Kegalle and 13% in Galle as of 10 this morning.
