The police have arrested over 480 people in election related incidents since the day Parliament was dissolved and elections were declared.
Police spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekera said that the police had conducted 214 raids at several locations from the day elections were called for till yesterday.
He said that during that period the police had arrested 484 people and legal action was filed against them.
The police spokesman said that, separately, the police had received 275 complaints related to the August 17 Parliament elections.
He said that investigations have been launched over those complaints by the respective police stations. (Colombo Gazette)
