Suspect arrested over body found in Pettah

A suspect has been arrested over the discovery of a body of a female at the Pettah bus stand, the police media unit said.

The police said that the suspect wanted over the murder of the woman had been identified through CCTV camera footage of a lodge in Pettah where the two of them had stayed together.

The suspect is a resident of Nallur and the police had arrested him in Mannar today following investigations conducted by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).

The body of the woman had been found inside a bag at the Bastian Mawatha private bus terminal last week.

Most wanted thief Nigel Jacotine arrested

A thief who was on the run after stealing from several houses and shops, Nigel Jacotine, has been arrested. Nigel Jacotine alias Nigel Ghouse, was arrested in Wellampitiya by the Police Colombo Crimes Division (CCD).
