Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram was shot at while travelling in his car to the National Stadum in Karachi today. He is safe, though, and the nature or motive behind the attack is not yet known, ESPN Cricinfo reported.
Akram told Express News, a Pakistan television channel, that was he was “in shock” and that he had noted the car number and given it to the police.
“Wasim was driving himself, and the car next to him tried to jam his car to one side and opened fire. He did not get hit, he is now at the National Stadium, dealing with police formalities.” Arsalan Hyder, Akram’s manager, told ESPNcricinfo.
Akram was in Karachi to work with emerging fast bowlers at a training camp at the National Stadium. (Colombo Gazette)
