STF security for Dangerous Drugs Control Board chief

President Maithripala Sirisena has issued instructions to the police Special Task Force (STF) to provide security to the Chairman of the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board Dr.?Nilanga Samarasinghe.

Justice Minister Wijedasa Rajapaksa said that he had raised the issue over the security for?Samarasinghe, with President Maithripala Sirisena.

He said that the President had then issued instructions for STF security to be given to?Samarasinghe who had alleged that his life was under threat.

Samarasinghe had said recently that he had urged the Government to give him security as there are threats to his life owing to the work he does, but so far he had not been given such security.?(Colombo Gazette)

Inmates involved in crimes to be transferred to Boosa

By Indika Sri Aravinda Measures have been taken to transfer a group of prisoners imprisoned on charges of organized crimes to a separate unit at the Boosa Detention Camp, the Commissioner General of Prisons T.
