China in talks with Lanka on new projects

RanilChina is in talks with Sri Lanka on some new projects, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe claimed during a rally held in support of the UNP for the Parliamentary election.

The Prime Minister said that a Chinese company has approached Sri Lanka and sought approval for a ship rebuilding project in Hambantota.

He said that Ports and Shipping Minister Arjuna Ranatunga is having talks with the Chinese company with regards to the project.

The Prime Minister said that the Chinese are also involved in part of the construction work of the Colombo – Kandy highway.

He said that if the UNP is elected into power at the August 17 Parliament election, a UNP Government will be able to assure several new investments to the country by December this year. (Colombo Gazette)

  1. UNP -Ranil is short sight policy maker ,who has no vision of overall political and economy planning for future Sri lanka.

    UNP even before and after that critized Chinese an investment of many projects,now he want China to be restart an investment in Sri lanka.that si not bad,as long as it will save our economic developemnt.

    As immuturated political leader of orthodox Christain mindset must change by UNP-Ranil that the very vested interest of Our Nation.

    WE WELCOME CHINA INVESTMENT IS OUR COUNTRY NATIONAL INTEREST ,NOT ONLY THAT CHINA ANY OTHER COUNTRIES WHO ARE WILLING TO INVESTMENT OUR TERMS AND CONDITIONS BASE ECONOMIC DEVELOPEMNT WE HAVE TAKE INTO ACCOUNT WITHOUT DELAY.
