The United National Front (UNF) said that it will further develop the country in the next five years and launch several projects if it wins the August parliamentary elections.
Releasing its election manifesto at a ceremony today, United National Party (UNP) leader, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said that the party will introduce a five fold action plan which will benefit the citizens of the country.
The plan includes the development of the economy, eradication of corruption, restoring freedom, investment on infrastructure and scaling up education.
Wickremesinghe added said that civil society members would be allowed to play a leading role in the state administration and therefore a consultative assembly comprising civil society members would also be set up.
He further said that the UNF, under its government, would develop the country within the next 60 months by generating one million jobs, one mega city in the Western province and set up 45 economic development zones, 23 super development zones and ten fisheries development zones.
