Prassana, wife released on bail in land case

Western Province Chief Minister Prassana Ranatunga and his wife were released on bail today after being produced in court over a land case.

The Financial Crimes Investigations Division (FCID) had filed the case against Ranatunga after he failed to appear in court last week over alleged fraud in a land deal.

Ranatunga and his wife were produced before the Fort Magistrates’ Court and released on bail. (Colombo Gazette)

Udayanga Weeratunga returns to Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka?s former Ambassador to Russia Udayanga Weeratunga returned to Sri Lanka today and was detained by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at the Bandaranaike International Airport and questioned.
