Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by 6 wickets in the first of five One Day International matches played in Dambulla today.
Batting first Sri Lanka scored 255 runs for the loss of 8 wickets and in reply Pakistan scored 259 for 4 wickers in the 46th over.
Dinesh Chandimal scored 65 runs and helped Sri Lanka to make a decent score as those around him failed with the bat.
Pakistan all rounder Mohammad Hafeez took 4 wickets for 41 runs in his 10 overs and then returned with the bat to score a match winning 103 runs to ensure the visitors secured victory.
The Pakistan team has already won the three match Test series which was played ahead of the one day international matches. (Colombo Gazette)
