The United National Party (UNP) today said it was confident of securing more than 115 seats in Parliament at the next Parliament elections.
UNP MP Lakshman Kiriella said that the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) was clearly divided and has been “hijacked” by outsiders.
He said that people like Wimal Weerawansa, Dinesh Gunawardena and Vasudeva Nanayakara are now dictating terms to the SLFP.
Kiriella said that the SLFP has not learned from the past and instead continues to make the same mistakes even now.
The former UNP member said that to learn from the past the SLFP may need a new leader who will identify the mistakes and rectify them. (Colombo Gazette)
