Western Province Chief Minister Prasanna Ranatunga denied allegations of corruption made against him and his wife.
Ranatunga said that the allegations are part of an attempt to scuttle the election campaign of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Prasanna Ranatunga is backing Rajapaksa at the August 17 Parliament election and was among those on stage with the former President at Tangalle yesterday.
The police Financial Crimes Investigations Division (FCID) today questioned Prasanna Ranatunga’s wife over alleged fraud in a land deal. (Colombo Gazette)
