A group of United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) members filed a complaint with Elections Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya today alleging that the Government was violating election laws.
Former UPFA Parliamentarian and Mahajana Eksath Peramuna (MEP) leader Dinesh Gunawardena led the UPFA members for the meeting with Deshapriya at the Elections Secretariat.
They alleged that the Government was recruiting officials to the public sector despite National elections being called for.
Elections Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya has warned public sector officials that action will be taken if elections laws are violated.
He urged public sector officials not to recruit anyone as elections have been declared and since it is a violation of election laws. (Colombo Gazette)
