President may dissolve Parliament tomorrow

srilanka_parliament-8President Maithripala Sirisena may dissolve Parliament tomorrow, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has told a group of Tamil politicians.

The Prime Minister has told the newly formed Tamil Progressive Alliance (TPA) that Parliament is expected to be dissolved tomorrow evening.

He had said that since the term of the current Government ended in April and since there is no agreement on the 20th Amendment to the Constitution, the President will dissolve Parliament and declare elections. (Colombo Gazette)


  1. Then this should be the last day of torturing by Yahapalana thugs. People in Sri Lanka had the fear of facing terrorism again, due to the way current government relaxed national security. Definitely there was corruption in Rajapaksa government but people will not allow same thing happen again if they are re-elected.
