Over 100 in hospital after food poisoning

Over 100 people were admitted to hospital in Avisawella today following suspected food poisoning, the police media unit said.

The police said that most of the people admitted to hospital are employees of a garment factory in the area.

The police said that the employees had fallen ill after consuming food from the factory last?afternoon and had to be rushed to the Avisawella Base Hospital today.

The?police are conducting further investigations into the incident. (Colombo Gazette)
