gotabhaya-rajapakseFormer Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa, the brother of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, says he will not enter politics.

Gotabaya Rajapaksa also noted that when he was the Defence Secretary he had done a lot to ensure the National Security was maintained.

The former Defence Secretary said that during the five years following the end of the war, Sri Lanka’s National Security was not under threat.

Rajapaksa said this when questioned my the media at an event at Padukka. (Colombo Gazette)

  1. If Gotabhaya can beat the corruption charges laid before him, he is welcome to enjoy the fortune he appears to have accumulated in his second home, USA. Sri Lankan politics is certainly not for him

  2. It is better he keep himself out of this dirty political campaign, I am sure he will assume his duties once MR wins the General Election. Its amazing this short 150 days done, almost all the friends who talk favor of MS in last election now admiring MR. Definitely in coming election there going to be a huge turnover, people will come together to save our nation from this unpatriotic peoples. look at top politicians in UNP (Mangala Ranil Ravi), look at there lifestyles, do they look like they come from Sri Lankan cultural background. I am sure they brought up in a environment that despise Sri Lanka values and Culture. Why would they give dam about Developing Sri Lanka.

    • What election is MR going to win? Unlike yourself, most Sri Lankans have not forgotten the fraudulent Mig deals of US$10 million that Gotabhaya put through or the US$ Billions of the kickbacks to MR from all the projects that was funded with loans from China at exorbitant interest rates that we can never repay. I’d like to know how the Rajapakses bought those mansions in USA worth US$ Millions that was featured in the Telegraph.

  3. Do not panic. UNP is digging their own grave, so time will come to you if you are interested in politics.

  4. Mr.Gotabhaya Rajapakse should think twice whether entering Sri Lanka Politics or not.A man in his calibre, as a Minister in charge of “Developing & Beautification Sri Lanka” should be in our Parliament.
