Six suspects produced in court today over the recent attack on the Jaffna court, were freed on conditional bail while 34 others were further remanded.
A group of 40 suspects of the 130 who were arrested following the recent violence in Jaffna were produced in the Jaffna court today.
The judge then ordered that six of the suspects be given conditional bail while the remaining 34 be further remanded.
The police had arrested 130 people after a protest rally they took part in, against the rape and murder of a Tamil girl from Kayts, turned violent.
The protesters had pelted stones towards the police and the Jaffna Court Complex, damaging parts of the building. (Colombo Gazette)
