Over 113 MPs sign no-confidence motion on PM

Over 113 members of parliament have signed a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, opposition MP Manusha Nanayakkara said.

Nanayakkara said that the no-confidence motion seeks to remove the Prime Minister over the issue on the Central Bank Governor and the fact that Wickremesinghe heads a minority Government. (Colombo Gazette)

One person killed following shooting incident near Mahara court

One person was killed following a shooting incident near the Mahara court complex this morning, the police media unit said. The victim was shot dead when he was about to get into his car after appearing in court. The police said that the gunmen had been in a vehicle near the court complex. (Colombo Gazette)

Three most wanted drug smugglers arrested in Colombo

Three most wanted drug smugglers have been arrested in Colombo, the police media unit said today. The police said that the?drug smugglers were arrested with 1kg of heroin following a raid conducted in Colombo early this morning.
