Navy arrests Indian fishermen in Lankan waters

Sri-Lankan-NavyThe navy arrested 14 Indian fishermen while they were poaching in Sri Lankan waters in the seas North of Thalaimannar yesterday.

The navy media unit said that three Indian fishing trawlers were also taken into custody.

The Indian fishermen along with the trawlers were handed over to the officials of the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources in Mannar for further action.


  1. Sri Lankan Government needs to be very careful now as majority of these boats belong to Chief Minister Jayalaltha. She is back in power and we all know how she managed to escape all allegations against her. With the promise from Modi who made a deal with Jayalalitha, it can be difficult to Sri Lanka to go against a corrupted system.
