The police Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has arrested two people for printing fake Indian currency notes.
Police spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekera said that the two suspects were arrested in Ja-Ela based on information received by the police.
Gunasekera said that one suspect, from Wattala, had in his possession 25 fake Indian 1000 rupee notes and the other suspect, a resident of Muttur, had in his possession 156 fake 1000 Indian rupee notes.
Further investigations are underway. (Colombo Gazette)
