Two arrested for printing fake Indian currency

HandcuffsThe police Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has arrested two people for printing fake Indian currency notes.

Police spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekera said that the two suspects were arrested in Ja-Ela based on information received by the police.

Gunasekera said that one suspect, from Wattala, had in his possession 25 fake Indian 1000 rupee notes and the other suspect, a resident of Muttur, had in his possession 156 fake 1000 Indian rupee notes.

Further investigations are underway. (Colombo Gazette)
