Fishermen handed over to Sri Lanka

fishermen_indian_fish_reuteThe navy assisted in the repatriation of 16 Sri Lankan fishermen, who were released from Indian custody, the navy media unit said.

The fishermen were handed over to Sri Lanka Coast Guard officials by the Indian Coast Guard Ship “Rajtarang” at the Indo-Sri Lanka International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) in the seas north of Kankasanthurai today.

The released fishermen were safely brought to the Kankasanthurai harbour by CG 42 which belongs to the Sri Lanka Coast Guard and handed over to Fisheries Department officials.
