The Cabinet sub-committee appointed to present the final report on the 20th Amendment to the constitution, met today for deliberations.
Minister S.B. Dissanayake, a member of the sub-committee said that several issues pertaining to the 20th Amendment to the constitution were discussed at today’s meeting.
He said that President Maithripala Sirisena also attended the latter part of the meeting and noted that the proposals will be discussed with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe tomorrow or on Wednesday.
The Minister said that following the discussions held today it was possible to “get close” towards a final solution.
Minister S.B. Dissanayake said that he was hopeful the final set of proposals on the 20th Amendment to the constitution will be finalized at the next cabinet meeting. (Colombo Gazette)
