A no-confidence motion on Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake was handed over to Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa today.
The motion was singed by around 100 members of parliament.
The no-confidence motion notes concerns over the state of the economy and other issues related to Minister Ravi Karunannayake.
The opposition had recently said that one allegation against Karunanayake is that he has been accused of having direct dealings with Sri Lankan born US based convicted felon and ex-hedge fund kingpin Raj Rajaratnam.
The opposition said that based on all the allegations against Karunanayake he has no ethical right to be the Finance Minister of Sri Lanka. (Colombo Gazette)
