A group of Indian fishermen who were set free yesterday, were handed over to the coast guard today.
The coast guard said that the 37 Indian fishermen were to be handed over to the Indian coast guard today.
The Indians were freed following talks President Maithripala Sirisena had with a group of Indian fishermen last week.
Sirisena had told the Indians he wants the fishermen issue between India and Sri Lanka to be resolved through negotiations. (Colombo Gazette)
