High-tech CCTV at consular department

High-tech CCTV cameras have been installed at the consular department of the Foreign Ministry to monitor the activities of the staff.

The CCTV cameras have been connected to the mobile phones of some top Ministry officials in order for them to keep a close eye even from outside office

Deputy Foreign Minister Ajith Perera said that he can monitor the department using his mobile phone.

He said that the CCTV cameras were installed to improve the consular department work, security and so ensure there is no corruption.
