Several families have been affected and some have been forced to seek shelter at temporary camps following the heavy rain over the past 48 hours, the Disaster Management Center (DMC) said this morning.
As of this morning, the DMC said that 192 families which includes 541 people, have been affected by the rain across the island.
The DMC said that several families in the Rajagiriya area are among those displaced by the rain and are now in temporary camps.
Meanwhile, one person was killed and two others sustained injuries when a tree fell across the Malabe-Kaduwela road at the Pittugala junction this morning.
At least four vehicles were also damaged in the incident. (Colombo Gazette)
