The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) says power cuts for a maximum of two hours will be imposed in parts of the Western Province between September 12 and 24.
According to the CEB, the power cuts will be imposed in order to facilitate the construction work of the Colombo outer circular highway.
The CEB says a power line between Biyagama and Pannipitiya will need to be disconnected during the construction work.
As a result the electricity in Dehiwala, Ratmalana, Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte, Horana, Ambalangoda, Kalutara, Bandaragama and Ambalangoda will be cut for two hours between 8.30am and 10.30pm between September 12 and 24.
The CEB says the time of the power cuts and duration, which will not exceed two hours, will depend on the demand for electricity in the respective areas and the weather. (Colombo Gazette)
