Government sticks to local judicial process

The Government has decided to stick to a local judicial process to investigate alleged human rights abuses related to the war. Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe told local media heads today that the Government had discussed this with the United States which had moved a resolution at the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in Geneva. Karunanidhi slams statement on Sri Lankan issue

Japanese PM Abe to meet Ranil next month

Arrangements are being made for Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to hold talks with French, Turkish and Sri Lankan leaders in Japan over three days in early October, a government source said, according to The Japan Times.
