Champika says DCD threat remains (Audio)

Minister of Technology, Research and Atomic Energy, Patali Champika Ranawaka says the threat posed by DCD or dicyandiamide, still remains in Sri Lanka.

He said that some government institutions have cleared some milk powder brands saying they don’t have dangerous levels of DCD.

However he says he does not accept the determination as Sri Lanka is not capable of properly testing if products have DCD or not.

The Minister said that tests will also take much longer time to conclude and till then it is not safe to feed children with milk suspected to have DCD. (Colombo Gazette)
